From June 30, 2022, you will no longer be able to create or edit an Expanded Text Ad in Google Ads.
Google will be removing this ad variation so the focus will now be on Responsive Search Ads and Dynamic Search Ads in standard Search campaigns.What does this mean for you?
If you manage your own Google Ads, you need to review your current Expanded Text ads and ensure the ad copy is evergreen. This means you need to remove any date specific messaging (2022) or seasonal activity (“great time for solar this Autumn”).
If we manage your Google Ads account, you don’t need to do anything! We will manage and optimise your Google Ads account and prepare for any upcoming changes and implications.
